Welcome

I am an Architect and sustainability specialist passionate about designing joyful, beautiful and welcoming places for you to live and work; all of this whilst making them more resilient to our changing climate and making them accessible to all. I design to your dreams, your lifestyle and your budget.

What I Do

I work with new build and existing across residential and commercial sectors. I relish the opportunity to adapt, preserve and transform the spaces and places we already have rather than demolishing and building anew. The primary word in this field is “retrofit”. I have extensive experience doing this to a variety of standards, whether this be the (almost-zero heating bills) Passivhaus standard, EnerPHit, AECB Carbonlite, LETI etc. I’m a Retrofit Coordinator under something called PAS 2035, which means that I’m qualified to do this work in a careful, risk-managed way. I prioritise putting together for you a “whole house plan”, that considers all the measures that you may want to do and how they all interact with eachother.

I’m also a formerly chartered Passivhaus Designer, and led the design of new-build and retrofit Passivhaus schemes in the Cambridgeshire and Oxfordshire area.

From my extensive experience I can lead your project from conception to completion, guide you through any consents you may need, find and coordinate with any engineers and specialists, help getting the right builder on board, and support the work onsite.

Sustainability

With my sustainability specialist hat on, I can also keep track of how much your building "weighs on the planet", or how much carbon is used to build or operate it over its lifetime. I can help you make decisions regarding the right products and systems that can minimise ecological impact. My primary software for this is the Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP).
